Acrylic paint on paper, A1. |
‘Blue’. Although, I think I prefer the previous ‘Red’
work, I like how this project has begun and I am enjoying myself at the moment. Just stressing about having to write my essay, eek! I had a
tutorial with Sebastian today and I realised that to the end of my last
project, I was simply making work just so I could get to the end and
finish with it. I feel as though I wasted my time, but Sebastian made
see that I had to go through it all to see if it worked for me or not and I
found out that it did not. The representation of things I said was not
important, but it is something I should probably look into more. People
tend to see things in everything, so they can make a connection and
relate to it. We all do it, even me, however, not so much in my work,
unless it is meant to show something. Someone said that in this painting
she could roughly see an elephant and now that she has pointed it out, I can see it too. Is it possible to create something
that does not represent anything? After a few more of these, I hope to
work a lot bigger and it was suggested that I should maybe try oil
paints, I have a load of acrylic paint left over from before and with
money not being plentiful, I am a tad reluctant to as yet.
