Final Year: Semester A.
(Look at this sky! Here have something to distract yourself with instead of actually reading the blog post - he he!)
It has been an incredibly long time since I last posted on here and that's very naughty of me... Oops!
Many, many things has happened since our last update, so, where to begin?
The main disruption to my life was the dissertation and its hand in! It was horrible, but thankfully, it was over and out of the way before the Christmas holidays. That period just seems like a blur now and I can't remember any of what I had learnt... Only really that it was about Peter Doig.
There was, also, assessment to get through at the beginning of January and I passed that - wahoo! I had struggled once again with the direction my work was going, like normal to be honest and I was stuck. I blame it on dissertation. I think I found it difficult to separate in my head being creative and making, and then having to write six thousand words. In the end, I definitely focused on the long essay more than my practice, as I have always struggled with academic writing. I was slightly nervous about how it would end, due to the feedback on my paintings and how I personally thought it all went. I only wanted to pass and I passed better than I expected, which is always good. However, I have moved on from the clouds theme that I was originally so interested in.
We also had to put on a show at Letchworth Arts Centre, called 'Protoplasm', organised within our group, with different roles coming together and ending with a 2 week long exhibition. A sort of preparation for some of the things we would need to do for our exhibition in London that's coming up in a couple of months. I was also lucky enough to exhibit with the wonderful Freudian Sheep another couple of times, I really hope that once I'm back home I'll be able to get more involved with them.
That's more or less everything you've missed, I think... If you follow me on good old Facebook then you may already know all of this and if so, thank you for keeping up with me!
