Too much to do.

Where do I even begin?

I had my Degree Show proposal today and I had to build this model of the space I would like to use (which in itself was more difficult than I had anticipated). Thankfully, they mainly focused on the fact I want to have an orange floor, rather than what I needed to get done painting-wise. Everyone has such good ideas, I think the final outcome will be awesome all together!

There is so much going round in my head all the time of what I need to do in a matter of weeks. I'm trying not to stress or panic. Instead, I'm getting to the point where I hope if I ignore it it will go away, but of course, no. I can not believe it will all be over soon and I will be out in the real world as they say.

In no particular order, I need to:
  • Do at least 4 more paintings
  • Figure out the floor
  • Make loads more drawings in my sketchbook
  • Artist/Exhibition research
  • Create a website (with a proper email)
  • Getting good images would probably help that
  • Finish a better version of my artist statement
  • Print business cards/postcards
  • Get on LinkedIn
  • Sort out all my social networks
  • Blog a whole lot more

I expect there is a heap more that I have forgotten, but that will have to do for now... Sigh.

Started Life Drawing.

(15 minute drawing of a feature)

I've decided to take up Life Drawing.

Now honestly, I'm being very hopeful of myself. It's on a Monday from 5-7pm (this to me is late), but I'm determined to see it through and maybe my drawing will get better. There's also another Life Drawing workshop on a Wednesday, which apparently a little different, so I shall be attending them as well. Dedicated or what?!

I was nervous to begin with, it wasn't at the thought of there being a naked model (turns out there's two), that doesn't bother me at all, rather the fact that I was going to meet new people. It was fine after a while and getting into the swing of things. I felt like I was being picked on slightly and being told I should be doing this and that to my drawing, however, I guess that's just how I'll learn though. I definitely achieved slight improvements as we went on. The very last one I did is my favourite, I might have to stick with drawing feet.

Herts Headlines.

Last night I helped at the Private View for University of Hertfordshires Creative Arts Degree Show. It was interesting, definitely a learning experience and the atmosphere was great. Now we have an idea of what our show will be like in a couple of years. I am glad Tez roped me in to it and that we suffered together haha! My feet were killing me and I don’t think I have ever smiled so much in such a short space of time before. But people were lovely and the works were amazing! My favourite being the model of an orangutan. It was unbelievably lifelike and cute.

To end, I just wanted to thank everyone for making it brilliant, well done, and for letting me be a part of it, (not that’ll probably even see this post haha).

Below are images of the main entrance, a model of an orangutan and a chicken from the Model & Special Effects area, as well as the t-shirt and bag for the newspapers we wore.
